A CID Drugs and Narcotics Unit officer has appeared in court accused of smuggling 40.8kg of dagga and 200 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup into Zimbabwe through illegal crossing points near Beitbridge.

Police have arrested two Teku Teku Company directors for allegedly producing illicit alcohol under unhygienic conditions, as separate operations uncovered nearly two tonnes of dagga and hundreds of bottles of BronCleer cough syrup.
