Police in Bulawayo have arrested two suspects and recovered 31.8kg of cannabis and hundreds of bottles of BronCleer cough syrup in separate operations targeting illegal drug trafficking.

A Gwanda magistrate has urged Zimbabwe to prioritise rehabilitation for drug addicts and focus law enforcement efforts on suppliers and trafficking networks instead of criminalising users.

BEITBRIDGE — A 64-year-old truck driver has been arrested after he was allegedly caught attempting to smuggle nearly two tonnes of dagga valued at approximately US$210,800 into Zimbabwe through the Beitbridge Border Post. The suspect, identified as Thapson Ndou, was arrested following an operation by law enforcement authorities who intercepted the consignment during routine border security checks.
