HARARE – A Harare man has been arrested and charged with fraud after allegedly hacking into a businessman’s bank accounts and siphoning thousands of dollars in a suspected cybercrime case that highlights growing digital security risks in Zimbabwe.

HARARE – A 25-year-old Harare woman has been sentenced to community service after being convicted of cyberbullying and insulting local businesswoman Zodwa Mkandla on social media. Princess Phiri was found guilty after posting a TikTok video in which she used offensive language directed at Mkandla.

In a statement released on February 3, KMC said the advert falsely claims to offer employment opportunities at the company and is designed to extract money and personal information from unsuspecting applicants. The mining firm stressed that it has not authorised any recruitment exercise linked to the circulating posts. “KMC has NOT authorised any such recruitment drive, and no legitimate vacancies are being advertised through unofficial channels,” the company said.
