The Zimbabwe High Court has awarded a divorced woman a larger share of the matrimonial property after finding that she carried the financial burden of servicing the family’s mortgages during her husband’s prolonged unemployment.

HARARE – The Harare High Court has ordered a local man to pay US$6,300 for pregnancy expenses and financial strain to a Harare-based medical doctor, despite dismissing her claims that he breached a formal promise of marriage.
