HARARE — The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has issued a warning to social media activist Majaira Jairos over what it describes as the fabrication and circulation of a fake police statement linked to a planned demonstration on 15 April 2026. In a statement released on Monday, 13 April, ZRP spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi dismissed claims that the police had endorsed what was described as a “peaceful” march.

A viral message circulating widely on social media and messaging platforms claims that Iran has destroyed multiple United States military bases across the Gulf region, causing unprecedented losses to American forces. The statement is often attributed to Israeli writer and commentator Alon Mizrahi.
