Mvurwi woman arrested over suspected infanticide
MVURWI — A 32‑year‑old woman, Thandiwe Kangara, was arrested on 4 March 2026 at Chihwe Village 2 Farm in Mvurwi in connection with a suspected case of infanticide, police confirmed. In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said Kangara allegedly gave birth alone to a baby girl before strangling the infant and burying the body in a shallow grave about 10 metres from her homestead.
