The City of Harare will shut down water supplies across the capital from 6am Friday to 6pm Sunday for urgent repairs and reservoir cleaning at Morton Jaffray and Warren Control.

HARARE — A Harare resident has approached the High Court seeking an urgent order to halt the rollout of prepaid water meters in the capital, arguing that the system is unlawful, violates existing water legislation, and threatens residents' access to water. Bernadette Makaya, a ratepayer from Mabelreign, filed the application through lawyer Tinashe Chinopfukutwa of the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR).

HARARE — Residents of Sunningdale are calling on the City of Harare to clarify why they continue to receive water consumption charges on their monthly bills despite recently being moved onto a prepaid water meter system. The concern was raised by a resident who said prepaid water meters were installed in the suburb approximately three months ago as part of efforts to modernise water billing and improve revenue collection.
