Kwekwe Council to Shoot Stray Dogs as Rabies Cases Surge
Kwekwe – The City of Kwekwe has announced a controversial plan to shoot stray and roaming dogs as part of efforts to contain a rise in rabies cases in the city. In a public notice, the council said the exercise, described as a tie-up order implementation, will run until May 27, 2026, targeting areas with high numbers of stray animals.

Dangamvura Police Hunt Armed Suspect in Rape and Robbery Case
Mutare – Police in Dangamvura have launched a manhunt following a rape and robbery incident in which a female bar owner was attacked by an unidentified armed suspect who broke into her premises at night. The case, currently under investigation by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), occurred on April 16 at around 10 pm after the victim had closed her bar and secured the premises.

Teen apologises after staged Meikles Market kidnapping; toddler recovered
BULAWAYO — A 14‑year‑old Form One pupil has apologised after admitting she staged the abduction of two‑year‑old Asanda Charisma Ndlovu from a busy Bulawayo shopping centre earlier this week. Baby Asanda was taken from Meikles Market on Tuesday and found safe on Thursday at a business premises on the corner of Herbert Chitepo Street and 3rd Avenue.
