Police say a foreign-registered haulage truck was allegedly overtaking another vehicle before colliding with a Mwazha Church commuter omnibus, killing 27 people near Chivhu.

Two Harare motorists have been arrested for alleged drink-driving in separate incidents, while a Beitbridge public transport driver was recently jailed for the same offence.

Three people have died after a vehicle they were travelling in was swept away while attempting to cross a flooded river along the Mashava–Downlands Road. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed that the incident occurred on Tuesday at a bridge over the Nyanyange River. According to police, the victims were travelling in a Ford Ranger Wildtrak when the vehicle was carried away by strong floodwaters while trying to cross the submerged bridge.
