HARARE – Treasury has released an additional US$1 million towards the construction of the Kunzvi–Harare water pipeline, bringing total funding for the project to over US$4.18 million, officials have confirmed. The project, being implemented by the Zimbabwe National Water Authority, is a key component of efforts to address chronic water shortages in Harare.

The government has commissioned a high-capacity asphalt plant in Skyline, Harare, a move expected to significantly speed up road construction projects while reducing reliance on costly subcontractors and imported materials.

Harare’s Willovale Road was officially reopened on February 23, 2026, following extensive rehabilitation works that have brought long-awaited relief to commuters, businesses, and residents in the capital.
