Proven Cooking Methods for Beetroot

Boiling: Place washed, untrimmed beets in boiling water (add vinegar to retain color) and simmer for 30–60 minutes.
Steaming: Steam trimmed beets over boiling water for 30–60 minutes to retain nutrients better than boiling.
Raw: Peel and grate or thinly shave raw beetroot for fresh salads.
