Tembo steps into the position following the departure of former head coach Marian Marinica, whose exit was confirmed on Monday, 27 April by the Zimbabwe Football Association.

The Zimbabwe Football Association has announced the resignation of Marian Marinica as head coach of the Zimbabwe senior men’s national football team. In a statement released Monday, ZIFA confirmed that Marinica stepped down citing personal reasons, bringing an end to his tenure with the Zimbabwe national football team.
