By Southerton Business Times Reporter — HARARE — Zimbabwe’s industrial heartland is poised for a fresh economic surge as the rehabilitation of Willowvale Road and its newly constructed traffic circle is officially commissioned on Monday, 23 February 2026, by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Hon. Felix Mhona.

The government raised almost US$18 million from the issuance of vehicle number plates between January and June 2025, Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Felix Mhona told Parliament.

Zimbabwe is moving to establish a Road Accident Fund to strengthen post‑crash management and provide social safety nets for victims, Transport Minister Felix Mhona said during a consultative meeting on the Road Accident Fund Bill in Harare. The initiative forms part of government efforts to reduce road traffic deaths and injuries by at least half by 2030.
