Eastlea Employer Jailed 15 Years for Raping Accounts Clerk
HARARE – A 42-year-old Eastlea man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Harare Magistrates’ Court after being convicted of raping his 25-year-old accounts clerk in a case that has intensified concerns over workplace sexual abuse in Zimbabwe. According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, the victim began working for the offender on 2 January 2025, before the abuse occurred months later under the guise of extended working hours.

HARARE — A 59‑year‑old housemaid, Sarah Matemarunda, was sentenced to 36 months’ imprisonment by the Harare Magistrates’ Court for stealing cash and foreign currency totalling more than US$80,000 from her employer. Two months of the sentence were suspended, leaving an effective custodial term of 34 months.

Woman jailed 15 years for aggravated indecent assault in Mutare

ZACC employees arrested for allegedly extorting ZIMRA officials
Brian Munyaradzi Kombora (32) and Terrence Manatse (34) appeared at Plumtree Magistrates’ Court on charges of criminal abuse of duty as public officers and unlawful detention. The NPA says the incident occurred on 17 February 2026 when Kombora, reportedly off duty, entered ZIMRA offices, identified himself as a ZACC officer, and handcuffed a 39‑year‑old supervisor.
