HARARE — The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has issued a warning to social media activist Majaira Jairos over what it describes as the fabrication and circulation of a fake police statement linked to a planned demonstration on 15 April 2026. In a statement released on Monday, 13 April, ZRP spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi dismissed claims that the police had endorsed what was described as a “peaceful” march.

HARARE – A 25-year-old Harare woman has been sentenced to community service after being convicted of cyberbullying and insulting local businesswoman Zodwa Mkandla on social media. Princess Phiri was found guilty after posting a TikTok video in which she used offensive language directed at Mkandla.

HARARE – US-based Zimbabwean comedian Learnmore Jonasi has launched a public fundraising appeal after being hit with a US$27 million lawsuit, turning to a GoFundMe campaign to cover mounting legal costs. Jonasi is seeking to raise US$20,000 to fund his legal defence, saying the financial burden of fighting the case is beyond his means.
