BULAWAYO – A Bulawayo magistrate, Evia Matura, has been sentenced to 24 months in prison for criminal abuse of office after unlawfully releasing a fraud suspect without a valid bail application. Matura (47) was convicted under Section 174 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act following irregular actions taken while presiding at Tredgold Magistrates’ Court.

HARARE – Chiredzi South legislator Joel Sithole has been arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) on allegations of abusing public funds under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Tasara Hungwe, the Member of Parliament for Mberengwa East, is accused of moving funds shortly after they were disbursed by the Parliament of Zimbabwe in August 2025. According to documents seen by local media, Mberengwa East constituency received ZiG1,341,500 (approximately US$53,000) under the CDF on August 14, 2025. HARARE — The Zimbabwe Anti‑Corruption Commission (ZACC) has arrested Prosper Isaka, director of Profutunny Investments (Pvt) Ltd, over allegations that he smuggled grocery consignments into Zimbabwe by misrepresenting them as agricultural equipment at Plumtree Border Post, ZACC said.

HARARE — Residents of Borrowdale have escalated a long‑running dispute over the operation of the United Methodist Church at Stand Number 9, Doveton Road, alleging that a fraudulent document was used to flout a High Court order that interdicted religious activities at the property.

Brian Munyaradzi Kombora (32) and Terrence Manatse (34) appeared at Plumtree Magistrates’ Court on charges of criminal abuse of duty as public officers and unlawful detention. The NPA says the incident occurred on 17 February 2026 when Kombora, reportedly off duty, entered ZIMRA offices, identified himself as a ZACC officer, and handcuffed a 39‑year‑old supervisor.
