In a poignant ceremony held in Harare last week, Cde Andrew Makahamadze, the ZANU-PF shadow legislator for Southerton and founder of the Andrew Makahamadze Foundation, was officially presented with the first-ever Kiran Jack Floating Trophy.

The award recognizes Makahamadze’s extensive work in community empowerment, compassion, and leadership throughout 2025. The event was attended by the family of the late Kiran Jack, community leaders, and high-ranking officials, marking the beginning of an annual tradition to honor those making a tangible difference in society.

Honouring a Legacy of Service

The trophy is named in memory of Kiran Jack, a former Hellenic Academy student and rugby enthusiast described as a young man of immense courage and community spirit. Kiran passed away in April 2025 at the age of 23.

A Vision Aligned with National Goals
