Emirates honours Zimbabwe travel agents after recognising their role in strengthening tourism and travel links between Harare, Zimbabwe, Dubai, and global destinations, the airline said in a statement. Omar Bushlaibi, Emirates country manager for Zimbabwe, praised travel partners as “a strategic pillar of the airline’s success” and highlighted the carrier’s contribution to Zimbabwe’s tourism and export sectors.
Airline praise and statistics that underscore Zimbabwe–Dubai connectivity
Emirates, which operates daily flights from Harare International and Lusaka to Dubai, said it has carried more than 1.1 million passengers on the Dubai–Harare route since 2012 and operated 9,078 flights between Lusaka and Harare. The airline credited these services with boosting tourism, exports, and business connectivity between Zimbabwe and key global markets.
Omar Bushlaibi, Emirates country manager for Zimbabwe: “Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, recognises the crucial role local travel agents play in strengthening tourism and travel links between Zimbabwe, Dubai and beyond.”
Top routes, economic impact, and future fleet plans
Top inbound destinations to Harare include Dubai, London Heathrow, and Beijing, while popular outbound routes for Zimbabwean travellers include Dubai, Lusaka, and London Heathrow. Bushlaibi said Emirates remains committed to expanding its global network and deploying more aircraft featuring the airline’s latest cabin products. “Looking ahead, we are excited to expand our global network and deploy more aircraft with our latest cabins, offering customers even more travel options,” he said.
Role of travel agents and industry partnerships in Harare
Emirates described travel partners as a strategic pillar, noting that local agents drive bookings, promote tourism packages, and facilitate cargo and export opportunities such as horticulture and artisanal goods. The airline said its recognition awards aim to strengthen collaboration with Zimbabwean agents and encourage further growth in inbound tourism and outbound travel services.
