Marshall Munetsi Commits Future to Wolves Amid Transfer Speculation

Zimbabwe Warriors captain Marshall Munetsi has reaffirmed his commitment to Wolverhampton Wanderers, dismissing recent transfer speculation by declaring that his priority is helping the club secure an immediate return to the English Premier League.

The 29-year-old midfielder had been linked with moves to French side Paris FC and Nottingham Forest during the transfer window. However, those rumours have cooled after Munetsi reported back for Wolves' pre-season preparations.

Munetsi Backs Wolves Project

Speaking to the Express & Star, Munetsi said discussions with the club's management had convinced him to remain at Molineux and be part of the team's rebuilding plans.

"At the moment, with the conversations I've had with the club and the management, they want to build a team and I think the priority for me is to make sure that I also help the team.

"As long as they want me to be here, I'm happy to be here," Munetsi said.

The Zimbabwe international said he is fully committed to the club's long-term vision and is focused on contributing both on and off the pitch. Munetsi joined Wolves from French Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims, bringing valuable experience from European football and international competition with the Warriors.

Promotion the Main Goal

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder said everyone at Wolves shares one clear objective for the new campaign winning promotion back to the Premier League.

"This is the main priority, but above all, what is most important right now is to make sure that the club gets back to the Premier League.

"No matter who comes in, no matter who stays, that is the most important message that has come from the chairman, that the club has to go back."

His comments are likely to reassure Wolves supporters following weeks of speculation linking him with a move away from the club.

Munetsi remains one of Zimbabwe's most influential footballers, serving as captain of the Zimbabwe Warriors while continuing to establish himself in English football.
