HARARE — Zimbabwe international pacer Blessing Muzarabani continues to enhance his growing global reputation after delivering a standout performance in the Indian Premier League. Turning out for Kolkata Knight Riders, the towering fast bowler produced an impressive spell of 4/41 in their clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens last Thursday.

Despite Muzarabani’s heroics, Sunrisers Hyderabad secured a dominant 65-run victory after posting a formidable 226 for 8 before dismissing Kolkata Knight Riders for 161 in Match 6 of the 2026 IPL season. Muzarabani’s four-wicket haul stood out in an otherwise challenging outing for KKR, as he consistently troubled top-order batters with pace, bounce, and disciplined line and length.

The performance adds to an already impressive run of form following his exploits at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, where he emerged as one of Zimbabwe’s key players and spearheaded the bowling attack. Cricket analyst Anesu Moyo said Muzarabani’s consistency is elevating his status globally.

“He is no longer just a promising fast bowler — he is becoming a match-winner. Performances like this in the IPL prove he can compete with the best in the world,” he said.

Speaking to Sportstar magazine, Muzarabani expressed confidence in his ability to succeed at the highest level.

“I want to play and perform. I just want to be here. I believe I am good enough,” he said.

He credited his previous stint with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru for helping him understand the demands of the competition.

“I was really happy to be in the RCB team and getting to see how the game is played and the tempo,” he said.

Muzarabani believes the IPL offers a sterner challenge than international cricket, making it an ideal platform for development.

“I believe that IPL is probably tougher than international cricket,” he said.

He added that his focus this season is on adapting his game and building on lessons from previous campaigns.

“This year, it’s just me adjusting,” he said.

At 2.03 metres tall, Muzarabani’s ability to extract bounce and maintain accuracy has made him a formidable presence in T20 cricket. His performances in one of the world’s most competitive leagues are not only boosting his career but also raising Zimbabwe’s profile on the global cricket stage. With continued strong displays, the fast bowler is positioning himself among the elite seamers in modern cricket and strengthening his role as a key figure for Zimbabwe in upcoming international competitions.
