GWANDA – Investigations into the deadly kombi explosion along the Bulawayo–Beitbridge Road have intensified, with authorities deploying a bomb disposal unit amid growing questions over the cause of the blast that killed at least 18 people. The tragedy occurred between 1 PM and 2 PM on Thursday near the Much Binding area, between Chipangali and the Gwanda tollgate, about 20 kilometres from Bulawayo.

MIDLANDS – A 52-year-old truck driver has died after the heavy-duty vehicle he was driving veered off the road and plunged into a river before becoming fully submerged in an accident that has renewed calls for road safety vigilance in Zimbabwe. Midlands provincial police spokesperson Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the fatal incident, which occurred on 10 April 2026 at around 4 pm along the Masvingo–Mbalabala Road at Ngezi River Bridge in Zvishavane.

BULAWAYO — A motorist was killed early on Saturday morning after a truck transporting thousands of live chickens collided with his Toyota Passo at a busy intersection in Northend, police and emergency services said. The crash occurred at about 5:40 AM at the junction of Robert Mugabe Way and Heathfield Road. Witnesses described a severe impact that left the smaller vehicle extensively damaged. The driver of the Toyota Passo was pronounced dead at the scene.

BEITBRIDGE — Two people were burned beyond recognition, and two others sustained serious burns after two commercial trucks collided head‑on and caught fire on Thursday evening, police confirmed.
