Fabrik Party Convention 2025 returns to Harare this weekend, spotlighting Zimbabwe’s underground creative culture through a three-day festival running from October 24 to 26 at Alliance Française de Harare. The event brings together fashion designers, visual artists, filmmakers, musicians and street-culture innovators for showcases, exhibitions and hands-on learning sessions.
Founded in 2020 as grassroots pop-ups, Fabrik Party has evolved into a convention platforming subcultures overlooked by mainstream institutions. This year’s edition expands that mission with runway activations, marketplace stalls, gallery displays and live music stages that blend daytime cultural exchange with night-time performance energy.
Organisers say more than 300 creatives have been supported through Fabrik initiatives to date, and the 2025 programme draws from that network. Emerging stylists and indie labels will debut collections on pop-up runways; visual artists will build site-specific installations; and filmmakers will screen short works exploring urban identity and youth perspectives. Collaborative showcases and skills-focused panels aim to drive sector professionalism and networking.
Focus on skills and market access
A central objective of the convention is strengthening creative entrepreneurship. Workshops will cover garment production, artist royalties, branding, sound engineering and low-budget film production. Mentorship clinics pair talent with industry facilitators to support business strategy and distribution, while curated retail spaces link creatives directly to buyers and stockists.
Organisers describe Fabrik as a movement of “forward thinkers and visionaries” pushing alternative aesthetics into Zimbabwe’s mainstream. Inclusive curation aims to elevate gender diversity and creatives from outside Harare to decentralise cultural opportunities.
Growing ambitions
The event combines free and ticketed sessions, limited-edition pop-ups and late-night music performances. Travel and ticket information is available across partner platforms. With increasing scale and industry backing, Fabrik Party positions itself as both a celebration of underground culture and a launchpad for regional creative visibility and commercial growth.
