HARARE – Police have launched investigations into a firearm-related incident and an alleged assault that occurred during a school rugby match between Eaglesvale College and Christian Brothers College (CBC), raising concern among parents, learners and school communities. In a statement issued on Sunday, 14 June 2026, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed that the incident occurred on 13 June 2026 during an inter-school rugby fixture held at Eaglesvale College in Harare.
“The ZRP confirms that investigations are currently underway in connection with a firearm incident and assault case which occurred at Eaglesvale College, Harare, on 13th June 2026. The incident took place during a rugby match between Christian Brothers College (CBC) and Eaglesvale College,” police said.
Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the firearm incident, the identity of those involved, or whether any arrests have been made.
